A Buyer's Guide to Commercial Faucets
Nov 22nd 2017
The best commercial faucet is one that works reliably and gets the job done. Which one you choose depends on where and how it’s going to be used. There are many different styles of faucets available, all of which have their own pros and cons. Here are some things to consider when you’re planning to buy commercial faucets wholesale.
Types of Faucets
Many business owners look for faucets by going online and searching for “commercial plumbing supply near me.” However, your choices aren’t limited to the brick and mortar stores in your driving range; you have the whole Internet to choose from. This is both good and bad: there are many more options to choose from, but it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the choices. Here are some of the most common types of commercial faucets:
- Wall-mount versus deck-mount faucets: Wall-mount faucets are connected to the wall, while deck-mount faucets are attached to the sink.
- Gooseneck faucets arc high over the sink to give you good clearance for washing large, bulky items.
- Double-jointed faucets pivot out to fill pots and then fold back in on themselves to tuck away neatly when not needed.
- More traditional faucets are often used for bathrooms. These include single-hole (which combines the faucet with one handle) and center-set (which has three holes, one for the faucet and two for handles on either side).
Types of Sinks
Unless you’re doing major renovations or building completely from scratch, the faucet you choose will often depend on the existing sinks that are already in place. For example, your sink will either be designed for wall-mount or deck-mount faucets, and it’s difficult or impossible to convert from one to the other. The number of holes in the faucet will also usually be fixed, so you may be limited to choosing either single hole or center-set faucets.
Other Considerations
Most commercial plumbing manufacturers offer faucets with additional features that you may want to consider. For example, you can find low-flow or other water-saving faucets to cut down on wasted water. In the bathroom, electronic and metered faucets are popular ways of ensuring the water turns off after a set amount of time. Touchless faucets are another popular style, helping to reduce the spread of germs.
