  Radiator Valves & HVAC Zone Valves

  The radiator valve is used to turn off the heat supply to the radiator in a one or two pipe heating system. If there's no heat check to see if the washer assembly has broken off from the spindle in the closed position. The same can be said for not being able to turn the heat off. In that case the washer assembly make have broken in the open position, the washer has disintegrated or the washer seat is damaged. More advanced are the HVAC zone valves which rely on your HVAC unit controls to open or close the valve. If they aren't operating correctly check and make sure there is electricity going to the zone valve or the HVAC unit itself. If you need to replace a zone valve you MUST replace it with one for your model HVAC unit as they come in differing voltages and configurations like normally open or normally closed.
